Traits: gentle, outgoing, animated,beautiful, captivating, willful, obstinate, independent, intelligent.
They will hold your heart captive, and will love you to the end, eager to please. They are difficult to train ,strong and require a special owner that has persistance and diligence to be successful. Great with children.

Siberian Music: They howl and whine, but rarely bark. It is a hauntingly beautiful sound. They are very vocal about their feelings. WOO WOO, they love to talk to you.

Husky Colors: red/white, black/white, cream, silver,sable, a "white husky" is not an original genetic color in a Siberian Husky. The photo on the left are my colors of the husky rainbow. All eye colors are prevalent in the Siberian husky, parti-eyed (1 eye is one color, the other eye has 2 colors- for example, the eye with 2 colors will be predominately blue with a sliver of brown or green) bi-eyed ( each eye is a different color) or both eyes are blue, brown, green, amber and light brown eyes

Shedding : I am sure no one ever told you how a husky looks when it sheds it fur. Why do you think all those photo's are taken when it's cold? They look bulked up and well, husky. They shed their winter fur and the hair flies, you can pull it out in clumps. It's not a pretty picture, but it's part of loving a siberian!

Escape Artist: There is a reason you don't let a husky run free. They will run and they run instinctively north you will have a great time running your husky down, they are quick.

So you say, I will tie them up: If you tie your husky up, it is miserable not only for them but for you, they will whine and bark, yes I said bark , how would you like to be tied up?

The best place for a husky is in a kennel run or a large fenced in area.

They do dig so you can bury chicken wire and cover it with dirt or gravel, you can decorate your yard with HUGE boulders, I use landscape timbers, and I check every day for new digs.

Watch Dog: Who are you trying to kid, your siberian will welcome anyone into your home and would not hesitate to go with a complete stranger, another reason to keep your husky on a lead or in a kennel at all times.

Huskies as Predators , they are not attack dogs and only follow their instincts, just like humans, larger vs smaller and it's the fun of the chase rather than the catch to kill. A husky is not a born killer, it's how the puppy was socialized at a young age. They get along with all creatures. We could all learn something from them

Longevity and Environment: Your husky will live for 12-14 years, make sure you are ready for this committment. They need lot's of excersie and do not thrive tied up all day, that is cruel, how would you like it. A bored husky can be a troublesome husky. They require 6 ft. high fencing with all new digs filled in daily, I have put landscape timbers around the perimeter of my fencing, this still has not stopped one of them. We have resorted to large rocks and cement to help contain them. The need lots of love and attention, if unwilling to make this committment, dont' get a siberian husky. They need to be a part of your Life, they need socialization just like humans do, they need that interaction!
